5 golden rules to maintain good health

Well, good health is one of the top blessings that anyone can ever have. In today’s agile life, the changing lifestyle has made it difficult to enjoy optimal health. We all were born healthy, but health is not something that you can enjoy forever if you do not pay attention to it. A healthy person has all the happiness in the world.

1.Drink enough water

Water lubricates the body, regulates metabolism, body temperature, alleviates constipation, and detoxifies the system. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily and don’t wait till you are thirsty. Spread it round the hours of the day; don’t drink too much at a time. Avoid sodas, sweet drinks, and canned juices. Instead replace them with coconut water and dairy products like milk, buttermilk, lassi. Dehydration can contribute to a wide range of common medical conditions like osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and may also lead to allergies and asthma.

Now the question is how much water is required? It depends on age, weight and gender of individuals. Water (in litre) to drink per day is equal to the person weight (in kg) multiplied by 0.033. So, if you are 60 kg, you should drink about two litres of water every day.

Water per Day = Person body weight*0.033

2.Eat right

The nutrient-rich diet is the key to good health as it promotes well-being and reduces the chance of illness.  A healthy diet comprises of fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits and their juices. Choosing a healthy alternative is your responsibility. Avoid overly processed canned or packaged foods. Cut down the three heavy meals to several smaller and balanced meals. Eat a large breakfast, a moderate lunch, and a small dinner. Avoid deeply fried and junk foods as an alternative carry healthy and homemade snacks to work

Eating right is important to keep on at a healthy weight. At the same time remember to retain an energy balance, the balance between the calories you eat and drink, and calories you burn when moving.  Always consider eating the right forms of food and in the right proportions at the right time for good health.

3.Sleep precise

A good sleep is a must for optimal health. It is the time when our body relaxes, repair and heal. Prolonged sleep deficiency also leads to reduced immune system response, fluctuating blood pressure and changes in metabolism. To maximize health, it is not enough to sleep for 7 – 9 hours but also important to consider the correct time to sleep. On should follow Circadian Rhythms (also known as the biological clock, centred in the hypothalamus region of forebrain) which is very precise and identical to nature.

 

During the night, from 11 pm to 3 am our blood circulation concentrates in liver which helps to detoxify the body. From 3 am to 5 am the blood circulation focusses in lungs which is a good time to exercise. From 5 am to 7 am, extreme blood circulation concentrates in your large intestine. When you won’t sleep during this time the organs may not work smoothly and thus effects your body. From 7 am to 9 am, most blood circulation concentrates in your stomach which is an ideal time for breakfast. Try to follow these timings as close as possible so that you will feel fresh and energetic through out the day.

4.Exercise

There is nothing that damages your health more than a sedentary lifestyle or a lack of exercise. Staying active is very advantageous to your health because it delivers oxygen the tissues and helps the insulin in your body to become more effective and minimizes insulin resistance. If you are lazy, you can end up becoming overweight, which is one of the biggest precursors for many diseases. You should engage in exercise (including walking) for at least 30 minutes per day for 5 days a week. One example of the benefits of exercise is an aerobic workout which has long been shown to reduce the incidence of low back pain.

5.Positive attitude

A positive mental attitude helps you to achieve anything in life. Optimism is the way to success. Positive thinking helps to maintain mental health by eliminating paranoia, stress and depression. Studies also revealed that Optimism enhances the cardiovascular health by. Positive thinkers live a longer lifespan, are less prone to sickness, experience less stress, and are generally more blissful.
